An Urgent Appeal to the Body of Christ to PRAY for America!

Sunday, July 4, America turns 234; will she still be here and recognizable at 250? This is an URGENT appeal for Pastors and Christian Leaders to organize prayer groups who will embrace and fully comply with the mandate of 2 Chron 7:14.

In such a short time we have transcended from humble beginnings overcoming many obstacles and tragedies to become the greatest nation on Earth. We have survived invasions of enemy forces, terrorist attacks, natural catastrophes, financial collapses, and more; however I fear that unless the people of God within our nation run to the altars with a contrite spirit in sincere repentance (as defined in 2 Chron 7:14) we will not survive the current moral collapse.

Our Forefathers birthed our Constitution on bended knees before the ONLY true and living God. Those who investigated concluded it was not the vastness of our geography; the genius of our commerce, industry, or technology; or even the might of our military that accounts for our rapid ascension to greatness but rather the unmistakable hand of God blessing, prospering, and protecting America.

Intoxicated in her own success, America has forsaken the God who blessed and prospered her. We have elected a President who refused to follow the protocol of his predecessors and participate in a National Day of Prayer; who tells other countries that America is NOT a Christian nation. Sadly, our current moral behavior proves him right. We WERE a Christian Nation, founded on the principle of Christ and dedicated to the Word of God; but if we are going to be honest we must confess that AMERICA IS BACKSLIDDEN.

In the past 40 years we have sacrificed more than FIFTY MILLION BABIES (equal to more than 15% of our population) to the god of secular humanism. As a nation we have become so apathetic/indifferent to the politically correct term “abortion” that we even tolerate “partial birth abortions”; a procedure in which the baby is pulled from its mother feet first until only the head is still in the mother’s womb. A scissor type instrument is then stabbed into the base of the baby’s skull usually bringing death. On the occasions the baby survives the stabbing a suction device is inserted into the wound made by the scissors to suck the baby’s brains out.

The homosexual agenda has waged war against the moral fiber of America, like a cancer it is devouring our family values and sense of right and wrong internally. Their tolerance and acceptance curriculum is being taught at all level of our educational system K-College. Same-sex marriages are now legally performed in 5 states plus Washington DC and recognized in 4 additional states.

Our public schools and government buildings have expelled God. It is not just that they are indifferent to God; they militantly oppose even the mention of His name.

I am convinced that one of the reasons God continued to bless America in spite of our backslidden condition is because we have remained a loyal outspoken ally to Israel. That too has changed with this administration. During the recent flotilla issue our UN Ambassador received direct instructions to advise Israel and the UN Security Council that Israel will no longer be able to count on our automatic vote in their favor. God told Abraham in Gen 12:3 “I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:” Abraham passed that blessing to his son Isaac who passed it to his son Israel. This particular verse makes for a very interesting word study. The Hebrew word for bless in both instances is barak (to bless, defend, esteem); there are, however, two different Hebrew words used for curse. “…and (I will) curse (arar - which means to execrate or bitterly curse) him that curseth (qalai – which means to ignore or consider trifling) thee.” You may be thinking that America has certainly not cursed Israel, but look closer at what the word study reveals to us as we have moved dangerously close. God said to Abraham, Isaac, and Israel; “I will bless/defend them that bless/defend you, and I will bitterly curse them that ignore your plight or refuse to defend you.

2 Chron 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

This is an URGENT appeal for the true children of God in America to embrace and fully comply with the mandate of 2 Chron 7:14 before it is too late to save America. We must repent from our sins personally, on behalf of the Christian community, on behalf of our local community, and our nation. We must come before the Lord in humility and sincerity, imploring Him to REVIVE America and restore in us a heart that is in passionate pursuit of Him. We must turn from our self-centered pursuits and narrow our focus to the heart of God. I am saying WE as in “My People”, the Body of Christ; we cannot ask Him to take the nation where we ourselves are unwilling to go.

The last time America was this vulnerable to destruction was at Valley Forge; Gen. George Washington prayed and moved the hand of God powerfully in our favor. We need a praying people who will once again penetrate the Throne Room to pray down the favor and the power of God on our behalf. I don’t believe we can expect the current leader of our nation to repeat the activities of George Washington; my question is, will God receive an adequate response from His People to spare our nation?
